In BC:

  • Routine mammography typically begins at age 40 (with informed discussion).
  • Recommended every 2 years for ages 50–74.
  • Earlier or more frequent screening may be needed for high-risk patients.

Cervical Cancer Screening

  • Screening begins at age 25.
  • Pap test or HPV testing depending on provincial program.
  • Screening continues until age 69.
  • Frequency: every 3 years (may vary with HPV testing protocols).
